Watches at Edward & Co.
A watch you actually wear, kept running
Most people learn the hard way that a mall kiosk will change a battery but wave you off the moment a repair gets real. A stuck crown, a tired movement, an old piece that stopped years ago — too much trouble, they say, take it somewhere else.
We are the somewhere else. Edward & Co. has been an Oviedo family jeweler since 1995, and the bench in the back is where the hard cases land. Edward works on watches other shops send away, and he buys and sells fine pieces the same way he services them: in person, no rush, no pressure to leave with something today.
Watch service, done at the counter
Bring the watch in and you talk to the person fixing it. Here is the work we handle in-house, most of it the same day.
Watch batteries
Most quartz batteries go in while you wait, sealed back up the same day so you walk out with a watch that runs.
Band and bracelet sizing
Links added or removed and pins reset so the watch sits where it should, not loose on the wrist.
Repair and restoration
Crowns, stems, crystals, and the kind of older movement another counter would rather not open.
Engraving
A date, initials, or a few words on a caseback — done in-house, not shipped off and lost for weeks.
“Can’t I just order a battery and do it myself?”
You can, and for a cheap watch it may not matter. But the watch worth fixing is usually the one that means something: a graduation gift, a watch handed down, the one you reach for every morning without thinking. Pry that caseback with the wrong tool and a scratched gasket turns a five-minute job into a water-damaged movement.
So we open it under magnification, check the seal, and tell you straight whether it needs a battery or something more. If the honest answer is that it is not worth the repair, you hear that too — before you spend a dollar.
