Most people find out the hard way. A mall kiosk will swap a battery, but the moment a repair gets real, they wave you off. A stuck crown, or an old movement that gave out years ago, that’s too much trouble, they say. Take it somewhere else.

We’re the somewhere else. Edward & Co. has been a family jeweler in Oviedo since 1995, and the bench in the back is where those hard cases end up. Edward takes in the watches other shops turn away. He buys and sells fine pieces the same way he fixes them, in person and without the rush. Nobody here pushes you to walk out with something today.

Watch batteries

Most quartz batteries go in while you wait. We seal the back up the same day, and you walk out with a watch that runs.

Band and bracelet sizing

We add or pull links and reset the pins so the watch sits right, not sliding loose down your wrist.

Repair and restoration

Crowns, stems, crystals, and the kind of old movement most counters would rather not open up.

Engraving

A date, initials, or a few words on a caseback. Done here in the shop, not mailed off and gone for weeks.

“Can’t I just order a battery and do it myself?”

You can. On a cheap watch it might not even matter. But the watch worth fixing is usually the one that means something. A graduation gift, maybe, or the one that got handed down to you, or the one you reach for every morning without thinking about it. Pry that caseback with the wrong tool, nick the gasket, and a five-minute job turns into a water-damaged movement.

So we open it up under magnification and check the seal first. Then we tell you straight whether it needs a battery or something more. And if the honest answer is that it’s not worth fixing, you’ll hear that too, before you’ve spent a dollar.
